The UC San Diego Conference Services Plus Program is available during the summer months at our Eleanor Roosevelt College facilities and offers additional ammenities not part of our regular Conference Program. Rooms are in an apartment-style layout, and include daily housekeeping, towels, linens, television, and coffee-maker. The Plus Program offers a total meeting package with breakfast, lunch, dinner, breaks, and meeting space.
Convenient Location
The University of California, San Diego campus is located only 20 minutes from the San Diego International Airport. UC San Diego’s spacious and scenic campus holds a wealth of possibilities for entertainment, sports, art, and nature enthusiasts. Minutes away from the UC San Diego campus is the beautiful beach at La Jolla Shores, and just a bit further south the city of San Diego offers such popular attractions as the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park & museums, Sea World, and Historic Old Town.
Torrey Pines State Park is approximately one mile north of campus and offers many trails crisscrossing the bluffs which provide splendid views of the ocean and coast. The Stephen Birch Aquarium, on the campus of UC San Diego/Scripps Institution of Oceanography is a favorite with children and adults. Just across from the UC San Diego campus, off of North Torrey Pines Road, is a glider port where hang-gliders take off from the bluffs into the ocean breeze.
Weather
The weather in La Jolla is usually very pleasant with temperatures around 25 degrees C (77 degrees F) and low humidity. Evenings can be cooler, down to 17 degrees C (63 degrees F), so a light jacket or sweater may be useful. The Pacific Ocean off the Southern California coast is warm enough for swimming. We suggest you bring along swimwear, beach towel, beach shoes/sandals, sun hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
Smoking
UC San Diego has been designated as a non-smoking environment. Smoking is not permitted inside any public buildings or inside any campus housing. However, smoking is permitted on the grounds.
Computer Compatibility
Guests can connect their lap-top computers to data modems located in each bedroom. An IP Address can be obtained from the Conference Service Center for a minimal fee.
Meeting Rooms
The Great Hall offers 4,055 sq. ft of meeting and event space and an open terrace is available for refreshment breaks or outdoor receptions. Fourteen additional lounge spaces are available ranging from 200 sq. ft to 890 sq. ft., as well as the Asante Classrooms.
Guest Rooms
Housing consists of apartments which have four single bedrooms, living room, and kitchenettes.
