Room Selection: Application Process

Who can apply?

Eligible students

• Only eligible continuing students may apply to participate in Room Selection 2008. An eligible continuing student is defined as a first year student who met the housing application deadline of May 3, 2007, all other subsequent deadlines, and housed as of September 27, 2007.
• Regents Scholars, Millennium Scholars, National Merit Scholars, and Chancellor's Entering Freshman Scholars who are currently residing in on-campus housing are guaranteed and eligible to participate in Room Selection 2008. A lapse in student status (even for one quarter) or moving off campus for any length of time other than university-sponsored programs, negates a student’s guarantee for on-campus housing in 2008-09.

Application information

• Please read this entire site for information and restrictions.
• ALL Eligible students (including scholars) MUST apply online, electronically sign their housing contract and make their $650 prepayment in order to participate in the room selection process.
• Students will be entered into Room Selection in their College of Registration. If you were accepted into I-House, you will be moved to the I-House Room Selection group after the application process is complete.
• All students will apply as individuals. During the online room selection sign-up, you may add eligible students as roommates.

How to apply

Click on “1 - Apply here ” on the Room Selection homepage http://www.ucsd.edu/go/housing/roomselection. You are opening up the application in TritonLink.

• Login to the application with your PID/Username and PAC/Password.
• The process will close at midnight on Thursday May 1, 2008.
  Click on “Verify Emergency Contacts” to begin! You can view your status as you complete each step of the process.
• Update your Permanent Address and fill out/update your Emergency Contact Information (including address). Each student must have an emergency contact.
• Complete your Personal History Form information. Most fields are required.
• Read, review and agree to the UCSD Housing Contract. We suggest you print out a copy of the Housing Contract and Contract Appendices for your records. Select your prepayment option:
  • E-Check – make sure you have your bank’s routing number and your account number.
  • Payment Coupon – print out and hand deliver to the Housing Administrative Services Office located above Café Ventanas in “the Loft” or the night drop deposit box located at Cashier’s Office.
• You may check the steps that you have completed by logging in to the Room Selection Application.
• Log out of TritonLink when you are finished.
• You may login to the Room Selection Application to edit your profile if necessary at anytime, prior to midnight on May 1, 2008. At this time, the process will be closed. Any changes to your profile will be saved.

For each step of the process, you will receive email confirmations sent to your UCSD email account. Please be sure to continue checking your UCSD account for further information and instructions.
